    Risk Officer

    Job Description

    • The Risk Officer is responsible for identification, monitoring and reporting of potential and actual occurrence of a risk in the organization including but not limited to: information risk, operational risk, and market risk.
    • The Risk Officer is to provide assurance to the Management that in line with business activities, statutory and regulatory requirements, risks are identified, classified and mitigated via adequate controls.

    Responsibilities

    • Consult with relevant units to determine, quantify, and mitigate risks involved in the company’s daily operations in line with the Company’s risk appetite, business and regulatory requirements.
    • Assess risk metrics, models and processes and ensure adherence to the company’s procedures for mitigating risks
    • Utilize analytical techniques and statistical analysis to develop and optimize risk strategies to meet pre-defined goals
    • Apply segmentation techniques using generic and custom risk scorecards and attributes
    • Proactively seek and recommend enhancements to processes and development
    • Develop new quantitatively driven strategies and pilot programmes
    • Develop programmes for tracking expected versus actual behavioural and performance measures for appropriate portfolios
    • Perform tracking and reporting on strategy implementations and validating post-implementation
    • Prepare risk reports, analysis and recommendation for Management and relevant stakeholders
    • Review new products, policies, procedures, and outsourcing to ensure adequate checks, controls, and risk mitigations.

    Minimum Education & Experience Required

    • Bachelor's Degree in any one of Finance, Business or Economics.
    • 4 to 8 years of relevant banking experience in Risk Management
    • Membership of a relevant professional body (such as RIMAN, AERMP, IRM, PRMIA) and/or a certification in risk management is an added advantage.

    Required Capabilities (Knowledge, Skills, Behaviour):

    • A highly motivated individual who has a strong risk outlook and who demonstrates good writing and communications skills
    • Highly meticulous with critical thinking skills and resourceful in problem solving
    • Good understanding of evolving regulatory guidelines in the risk management space
    • Team Player
    • Attention to detail
    • Can-do attitude.
