    Restaurant Bar Runner

    Job Description

    • We are looking for an ambitious, hardworking, skilled Bar Runner who’s major responsibility is to make the bartender’s life easier by keeping service running smoothly and “make the guest experience more pleasurable.” Whether that is acknowledging a guest who’s waiting to grab the bartender’s attention or fixing issues behind the scenes, they are a catch-all, problem-solver extraordinaire.
    • We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality and perseverance to thrive in this role.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensuring the counter, glasses, cutlery are kept clean.
    • Cleaning up the bar and table areas.
    • Taking out the trash and recycling throughout service.
    • Cleaning spills and mopping behind the bar.
    • Keeping the bar fully stocked at all times.
    • Juicing citrus and preparing garnishes.
    • Refilling ice wells.
    • Replenishing the bar with glasses, napkins, coasters, ice cubes, etc.
    • Replenishing cleaning towels at the bartender section.
    • Restocking liquor bottles.
    • Helping the bartender with ad-hoc requests throughout service.
    • Provide outstanding customer service to guests.
    • Carrying out additional responsibilities as required.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates should possess a Diploma or HND in any field of study.
    • Minimum of 1 year experience obtained in a well-structured restaurant of a reputable organization.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Basic kitchen skills are needed to be able to prepare garnishes and help out in the kitchen if needed.
    • Basic knowledge liquors, spirits, beers, wines and flavor profiles (Bar and drinks knowledge):
    • Organization skills
    • Must be proactive as it is expected of you to see into the future and take care of tasks before they become urgent. That means restocking bottles, garnishes, etc, before the bartender has to ask.
    • Problem-solving skills
    • Customer service skills:
    • Must be able to multitask activities in a timely manner.
    • Must be able to work under pressure
    • Good physical abilities
    • Critical thinking and time management skills
    • Patience, Personality and Perseverance abilities
    • Active listening, effective communication skills with great team spirit
    • Flexibility to work in shifts
