Regulatory Compliance Lawyer - Experienced Associate at Regcompass Consults

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on navigating complex regulatory frameworks across various industries (FinTech, Payments, Gaming, Cryptocurrency, Health, Trade, etc.).
• Draft, review, and negotiate compliance-related legal documents (contracts, policies, procedures).
• Conduct legal research and analysis to stay abreast of evolving regulations.
• Deliver clear and concise legal advice to clients, ensuring they understand their obligations and risks.
• Identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Partner with colleagues across the firm (technology professionals and business advisors) to provide holistic solutions for clients.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating legal and compliance matters.
• Stay up to date on relevant legal and regulatory developments through ongoing research and professional development.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess B.Sc Degrees
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a qualified lawyer in Nigeria, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Required:

• Proven experience in advising clients on compliance matters in relevant sectors (FinTech, Payments, etc.) is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of Nigerian regulations and legal frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
