The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial estimates to final figures.
The role ensures that projects are completed within budget while meeting quality standards and complying with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for projects.
Provide accurate project cost forecasting and budgeting throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies.
Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure alignment with budget.
Evaluate and negotiate contract terms with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Certify contractors’ interim and final payments.
Conduct site visits to assess progress, variations, and claims.
Prepare cost and financial reports for management.
Provide advice on cost-effective construction methods, materials, and alternatives.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and health & safety regulations.
Liaise with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Requirements
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
Membership of a recognized professional body (e.g., NIQS, RICS) is an added advantage.
Experience:
3 – 5 years’ post-graduate experience in cost estimation, project costing, and contract administration.
Experience in real estate development, construction, or infrastructure projects.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., QS tools, MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project).
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
