    Quality Control Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Quality Control Officer will be responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and ensuring that all raw materials, production processes, and finished products meet established food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
    • The role requires attention to detail, knowledge of food safety regulations, and the ability to implement quality control procedures in a fast-paced food production/QSR environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Inspect raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and implement quality control procedures across production and service lines.
    • Conduct routine checks on production areas, equipment, and storage facilities to ensure compliance with hygiene and sanitation standards.
    • Monitor adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and product specifications.
    • Work closely with production, procurement, and operations teams to identify and correct quality issues.
    • Document inspection results, prepare quality reports, and maintain accurate records for audits.
    • Ensure compliance with HACCP, NAFDAC, SON, and other food safety standards.
    • Train staff on quality and hygiene standards, including proper handling and storage of food.
    • Investigate customer complaints related to quality, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on resolution.
    • Support the development of continuous improvement initiatives for product quality and consistency.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • B.Sc. / HND in Food Science or related discipline.
    • 3 - 5 years experience in quality control/assurance within QSR, FMCG, or food manufacturing industries.
    • Sound knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • High attention to detail with the ability to detect product inconsistencies.
    • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, reporting tools).
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for training and cross-department collaboration.
