    Quality Control Officer

    About the Role 

    The Quality Control Officer will be actively present on the production floor, ensuring that bread, pastries, snacks, and special products meet defined quality and safety standards, from raw materials through to finished goods. 
    The role supports shift-based production, including early morning and overnight operations, and involves both manual quality logs and basic digital record-keeping. 

    Key Responsibilities: 

    • Product Quality Control: Inspect and evaluate bread and pastries for consistency, taste, appearance, and packaging quality. 
    • Process Monitoring: Ensure baking processes strictly follow set procedures, recipes, temperature controls, and timing standards. 
    • Raw Material Inspection: Check incoming ingredients for freshness, quality, and compliance with standards. 
    • Personnel Hygiene Oversight: Monitor the health, hygiene, and attitude of bakers, slicers, and the production team to ensure peak performance and product safety. 
    • Facility Sanitation: Verify cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and storage to maintain a food-safe environment. 
    • Compliance & Reporting: Document quality checks, flag non-conformance, and generate routine reports for management review. 
    • Continuous Improvement: Recommend process improvements and quality-enhancing initiatives based on findings and customer feedback. 

    Qualifications & Skills: 

    • OND/HND/B.Sc. in Microbiology, Food Science, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field 
    • Previous experience in food production or quality assurance, especially in a bakery or FMCG environment, is an added advantage 
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food safety and quality 
    • Excellent observation, record-keeping, and communication skills 
    • Assertiveness to enforce quality standards without compromise 
    • Ability to work early morning and overnight shifts 
    • Physically fit, with the stamina to oversee production processes and conduct inspections throughout the day 
    • Must reside within Ajah, Sangotedo, or nearby locations
