    QA/QC MEP Inspector

    Job Purpose:

    • The quality control MEP inspector will oversee and coordinate the planning, production, and delivery of all MEP products and services of the company to ensure that they meet industry and contractual quality standards. This includes working with employees and consultants/Client representatives involved in inspections and testing.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Performs materials receiving inspections with NLNG on all the electrical project materials delivered on-site and signs off on inspection reports with NLNG
    • Send daily inspection notification to NLNG.
    • Conduct all relevant electrical performance tests and prepare their quality records as applicable
    • Inspect the instrument and electrical cable tray, cable support system, and ensure that installed trays are of approved specification and meet requirements.
    • Inspect cable size and type before installation for above-ground and Underground cables.
    • Verification of the instrument/electrical trench before cable pulling, tagging of cables, installation of cable slaps, caution tape, and backfilling in accordance with the project specification
    • Monitor cable pulling, glanding, and termination to RMU, JB’s, DB’s, Electric motors, and other electrical equipment
    • Visual inspection of Electric motors for physical damage/carry out an insulation resistance test of the electric motor winding.
    • Insulation resistance test (IR) of electrical low-voltage cables before and after installation/pulling
    • Insulation resistance (IR) test of high voltage cable (HV) before and after cable pulling, and HI-POT test on high voltage cable after installation
    • Monitor the installation of conduit piping, JB’s, DB’s, sockets, outlets, switches, lighting fittings, and other electrical equipment as per the AFC drawing.
    • Check the earth continuity/bonding to equipment and connection to the main earth grid.
    • Close out all quality control inspection checklists/reports with the Client as per the project specification/requirement
    • Ensure that the applicable electrical standards/specifications are followed in all electrical installation activities
    • Preparing electrical circuit folders as per the project specification
    • Closing out the electrical punch list with the Client
    • Monitor and ensure proper implementation of project procedures and specifications

    Mechanical:

    • Fully involved in all mechanical/HVAC materials receiving inspection
    • Prepare/review documentation for all mechanical, HVAC, plumbing quality work, ITPs, method statements, drawings, procedures, and material approvals, etc.
    • Implementation of the QMS for planning, inspection, documentation, and construction activities
    • Monitor and perform hydro-test, leak test, and piping installation
    • Monitor HVAC equipment installation and performance testing
    • Carry out general piping inspection activities on CS, HDPE, PP, Coper, UPVC, PVC, etc.
    • Perform fit-up and dimensional inspection of piping
    • Visual inspection of welds
    • Perform welder’s qualification test
    • Prepare a daily welding report.
    • Prepare and issue punch lists; monitor punch-list closeout.
    • Prepare Hydro-test Packs
    • Monitor painting/coating activity on site
    • Ensure all inspection reports are signed off by the Client after completion of an inspection
    • Monitor NDT tests: PMI, RT, DPI, UT, etc.
    • Inspection of mechanical equipment installation and connections
    • Pre-commissioning and commissioning inspection of mechanical equipment
    • Preparation of mechanical completion handover dossiers
    • Follow up on mechanical activities to ensure compliance with codes, standards, regulations, and project-specific specifications, and QMS requirements.
    • Monitoring/inspection of structural fabrication activities
    • Monitoring/inspection of structural installation activities

    Key requirements:

    • Relevant quality training degree or certificate
    • Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering qualification (HND, BSC or equivalent)
    • Minimum of 5years of experience
    • Must be computer literate with sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

    Core Competencies:

    • Ability to identify defects, deviations, and non-conformities with precision.
    • Clear reporting, documentation, and coordination with site teams and contractors.
    • Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and test results to ensure compliance.
    • Ensures honest, unbiased inspection and verification.
    • Quickly identifies issues and recommends corrective actions.

    Functional Competencies:

    • Skilled in conducting inspections for HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire-fighting, and ELV systems.
    • Ability to interpret IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and technical submittals.
    • Proficient in preparing ITPs, MIRs, WIRs, NCRs, and daily inspection reports.
    • Ensures all materials conform to approved submittals and project specifications.
    • Verifies proper installation of ducts, cables, conduits, pipes, panels, pumps, valves, fixtures, etc.
