Job Summary

FMR Agency is recruiting a proactive and resourceful Procurement Officer to support the procurement operations of a fast-paced supermarket business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing quality products, negotiating with suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely procurement of goods at competitive prices.

Candidates must have hands-on supermarket procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and good knowledge of the Lagos market and supplier network.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure products, materials, and supplies required for daily supermarket operations.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure quality products at competitive prices.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and ensure timely delivery of purchased goods.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the Inventory Officer to prevent stock shortages and overstocking.
• Conduct market surveys to identify new suppliers, pricing trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure accurate procurement documentation.
• Verify the quality and quantity of supplied goods against purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement-related issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
• Prepare periodic procurement reports and perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND in Business Administration, Purchasing & Supply, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years\' experience as a Procurement Officer within a supermarket or retail business is mandatory.
• Proven experience sourcing a wide range of supermarket products and managing supplier relationships.
• Good knowledge of the Lagos market, supplier network, and major commercial areas.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and make sound purchasing decisions.
• Willingness to reside in the company\'s shared staff accommodation.
