    Protocol & Liaison Officer

    Job Reference: PLO5525

    Job Summary

    • The candidate must have experience in consular liaison, government relations, and protocol services. They will serve as the primary point of contact for protocol, immigration, and related services to help safeguard the privileges and immunities of the Corporation and its staff.
    • The role also involves liaising with relevant authorities to ensure effective implementation of the Host Country Agreement, while ensuring the Corporation and its staff comply with their obligations under the agreement and applicable national laws.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Liaison with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and any other Government department to which the corporation or staff members, based on Management approval, may be applying for a service, including those related to the diplomatic immunities and privileges, consistent with the corporation’s diplomatic status.
    • End-to-end processing of all Immigration and related requests including visa processing and Residency and work permit regularization.
    • Working closely with Head, Government & Consular Relations, provide logistics support in planning and organizing receptions, AFC Live, Investor Forums, banquets and dinners for Heads of States/Head of Governments and Council of Ministers.
    • Represents the Head, Government & Consular Relations and any other senior AFC officials when required.

    Education

    • A first degree in Law, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business Management, and/or any related field.
    • Possession of a higher degree will be an advantage.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience preferably in protocol and/or consular missions, non-profit organization, and development finance organizations.
    • Previous professional experience in preserving employee privileges and immunities, protocol and consular relations will be an advantage.
    • Experience in advocating for and representing a large organisation to partners and other stakeholders in the public service/private sector/international agencies.
    • Previous deployment in a Nigerian Mission abroad will be an added advantage.
    • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory while oral and written fluency in other international languages will be an added advantage.
