    Project Engineer

    Job Objectives

    Principal Duties / Responsibilities

    • Health and Safety Compliance: Champion the adherence to health and safety policies across all project activities, ensuring a safe working environment.
    • Design and Diagram Review: Critically evaluate contractor-submitted designs and diagrams, ensuring they meet project specifications and organizational standards under the engineering manager's supervision.
    • Data Management and Analysis:
      • Develop robust strategies for data collection, organization, and storage before project commencement.
      • Perform detailed analysis of collected data to identify trends and deviations, ensuring timely project delivery and quality outcomes.
    • Project Coordination: Lead the coordination of internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
    • Material Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of all project materials, providing detailed reports to the engineering manager to ensure compliance with project standards.
    • Daily Monitoring and Reporting: Oversee daily project tasks, ensuring they progress according to the project plan and reporting any deviations to stakeholders promptly.
    • Capital Expenditure Control: Ensure all capital expenditures align with the project’s scope and standards, optimizing budget utilization.
    • Contractor Support: Provide comprehensive support and necessary information to contractor engineers, facilitating smooth project execution.
    • Job Orders and Requisitions: Prepare and submit job orders or requisitions for management approval, ensuring all project needs are met efficiently.
    • Performance Reporting: Generate detailed weekly and monthly reports on project activities and contractor utilization, providing insights to the engineering manager.
    • Communication with Contractors: Effectively communicate all contractor requests and complaints to the engineering manager for resolution.
    • Timeline and Technical Management:
      • Develop, verify, and adhere to project timelines, ensuring all phases of the project are completed on schedule.
      • Conduct technical analysis of engineering works, preparing comprehensive reports and recommendations for follow-up actions.
    • Site Inspections and Compliance: Regularly inspect project sites to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and organizational policies.
    • Performance Measurement and Documentation:
      • Utilize appropriate systems, tools, and techniques to measure project performance.
      • Maintain comprehensive documentation throughout all project phases, ensuring transparency and accountability.

    Job Requirements
    To be successful in the role, the candidates should meet the following requirements:

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the manufacturing sector.
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Civil or Electrical Engineering.
    • Professional qualification (e.g., COREN) is required.
    • Proficient in project management software and relevant computer applications.
    • Certification in Project Management is an added advantage.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Demonstrated expertise in managing capital expenditure projects.
    • Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to drive team performance.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, AutoCAD, and web-based information management tools.
    • Superior communication and reporting skills, with a strategic approach to problem-solving.
