    • Microsoft ADC-W is seeking an individual who will help in the development and advancement of a sustainable technology ecosystem in Africa.
    • The Program Manager will be responsible for strategic planning execution of our Student & Professional Engagement Program. Partnering with Universities and other tertiary institutions in the upskilling of their graduates to be ready for the technology industry of the future. Identifying, and engaging with the tech community to establish a vibrant and thriving ecosystem of industry professionals. 
    • This will involve building and executing on a community-focused strategy to engage with Students, Startups, Partners and Government. To succeed in this role, one should have core leadership principles of creating clarity, generating energy and delivering results with enthusiasm and the entrepreneurial spirit that brings out creativity and the best of everyone involved.

    Responsibilities

    • Build a community-led strategy to engage the student and professional ecosystem.
    • Lead and oversee the overall execution of all engagements within the Student & Professional Community Engagement Program
    • Define the community outreach strategy including social media, blogs, videos across customer verticals
    • Foster, grow, and support a global community of student ambassadors and technical professionals
    • Inspire interested students to join the MSP (Microsoft Student Partner) program and identify leading technical community experts to join the MVP (Most Valued Professional) program
    • Organize events, outreach campaigns, and grassroots initiatives that align with ADC Community engagement objectives
    • Actively develop solutions to empower and increase community-led engagements using data-driven insights

    Qualifications

    • 5-10+ years of program and project management experience.
    • Experience driving complex and ambiguous programs from ideation to delivery.
    • Ability to identify, acquire and measure key performance indicators for the team.
    • Proven experience working with youths and technical communities.
    • Excellent communication skills with experience in leading technical and non-technical discussions with key stakeholders.
    • Strong multi-tasker and self-starter with a real passion for technology.
    • Strong networking and relationship management skills.
    • Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills.
    • Experience in the Microsoft GARAGE Internship Program would be an added advantage.
    • Experience in diversity and inclusion programs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of community building experience, with at least 2 years in student engagements
    • Experience working with students and understand their specific needs
    • Proven experience in building communities from scratch and leading large-scale community initiatives
    • Previous experience as a speaker
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science / Engineering / Business or equivalent work experience
