    Program Manager

    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will (but is not limited to):

    • Lead the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the program, ensuring all activities are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor detailed program work plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
    • Ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
    • Regularly monitor program activities and performance against key indicators (KPIs) to assess impact and identify areas for improvement.
    • Manage the program budget, tracking expenditures and ensuring financial accountability in line with organizational policies and donor requirements.
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges that could impact program success.
    • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate program staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between the organization, implementing partners, local community groups, and government stakeholders.
    • Establish and utilize robust Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (ME&L) systems to track progress against key performance indicators and program goals.
    • Oversee data collection, analysis, and synthesis to inform program adjustments and ensure evidence-based decision-making.
    • Prepare and submit timely, high-quality programmatic and financial reports to the Executive Director and other stakeholders, clearly communicating program impact and challenges.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including schools, community organizations, government agencies, and donors.
    • Represent the organization at external events, conferences, and forums to advocate for its mission and programs.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration and new partnerships to expand the organization\'s reach and impact.
    • Stay informed of best practices and current trends in  to continuously improve program delivery.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, or related field. A Master\'s degree is highly preferred.
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of program management experience in the Education Development sector.
    • Strong knowledge of project cycle management, M&E (Monitoring and Evaluation), and donor-funded projects.
    • Proven experience in managing budgets, resources, and diverse teams.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
    • Ability to work in fast paced environment, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in project management tools and MS Office Suite.

    Required Competencies:

    • Skilled in project cycle management, from design to implementation, monitoring, and closeout.
    • Strong ability to design and apply M&E frameworks, track KPIs, and ensure evidence-based decision-making.
    • Proven competence in managing program budgets, resource allocation, and ensuring donor compliance.
    • Ability to supervise, mentor, and build capacity of staff and volunteers while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
    • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with donors, government agencies, schools, and community organizations.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to set program priorities, align activities with organizational strategy, and deliver results within deadlines.
    • Skilled in identifying risks, anticipating challenges, and implementing mitigation strategies.
    • Capacity to analyze data, synthesize findings, and propose practical, innovative solutions.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
    • Competence in identifying and pursuing new opportunities for collaboration, funding, and program expansion.
    • Ability to represent the organization at conferences, forums, and policy dialogues, effectively championing its mission.
    • Advanced use of MS Office Suite, project management tools, and digital platforms for reporting and collaboration.
    • Commitment to staying updated on best practices and trends in education and development to improve program outcomes.
