Professional Laboratory Scientist at Chion Family Medical Centre

Location: Chion Family Medical Centre. 7, Oki Lane, Mende, Maryland, Lagos

Position Summary:

The Professional Laboratory Scientist will be responsible for performing routine and specialized laboratory tests, ensuring accurate and timely results that support patient diagnosis and treatment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, ethical, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of laboratory practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, process, and analyze biological samples (blood, urine, stool, etc.).
• Perform laboratory tests following standard operating procedures and safety guidelines
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Ensure accuracy, reliability, and proper documentation of test results
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, quality control, and infection prevention standards
• Adhere to regulatory, ethical, and confidentiality requirements
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field
• Valid professional license/registration (as required by regulatory body)
• Proven experience in a clinical laboratory setting is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety, and quality control
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Strong organizational and critical-thinking abilities
• Most reside with or close to Maryland
