    Procurement Officer

    Report To: Procurement Manager/ Head of Procurement    

    Salary:   N 250,000    

    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will (but is not limited to):

    • Assist in developing and executing procurement strategies aligned with company goals and budgetary requirements.
    • Conduct supplier assessments and ensure compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
    • Manage supplier performance, resolve disputes, and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
    • Prepare, review, and issue accurate purchase orders based on approved requisitions.
    • Track and manage orders to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods or services.
    • Coordinate with logistics, inventory, and finance teams to ensure seamless procurement workflows. 
    • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best value.
    • Assist in drafting and managing supplier contracts and service level agreements.
    • Ensure all procurement contracts comply with legal and regulatory standards.
    • Monitor procurement budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings.
    • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important procurement data.
    • Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate documentation.
    • Assess and manage supply chain risks, including alternative sourcing strategies.

    Requirement

    • Bachelor\'s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in a procurement or supply chain 
    • Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

    Required Competencies:

    • Thorough understanding of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation.
    • Ability to secure favorable terms and build win-win agreements with suppliers while protecting the organization’s interests.
    • Skill in developing, maintaining, and improving vendor relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and long-term value.
    • Accuracy in reviewing specifications, purchase orders, contracts, and delivery records, ensuring compliance and avoiding error.
    • Ability to manage multiple procurement tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
