    Poultry Farm Veterinary Doctor

    Job Overview:

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Poultry Farm Veterinarian to oversee the health and welfare of our poultry stock. The veterinarian will be responsible for disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and overall flock management to ensure optimal productivity and biosecurity.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Animal Health Management

    • Monitor and assess the health of poultry flocks daily.
    • Diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases and infections in poultry.
    • Administer vaccinations and medications as per farm protocols.
    • Conduct necropsies to determine causes of mortality and recommend preventive measures.
    • Implement and oversee biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks.

    Farm Management & Compliance

    • Ensure adherence to veterinary health regulations and industry standards.
    • Maintain records of disease outbreaks, treatments, and vaccination schedules.
    • Provide guidance on best practices for poultry health management.
    • Train farm workers on hygiene, handling, and early disease detection.

    Nutrition & Welfare

    • Advise on proper poultry nutrition to enhance growth and productivity.
    • Monitor feed quality and water supply for optimal flock health.
    • Ensure humane handling and stress reduction practices.

    Research & Reporting

    • Conduct periodic health audits and provide reports on flock health status.
    • Stay updated on emerging poultry diseases and new treatment methods.
    • Liaise with relevant government agencies for disease control and reporting.

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from a recognized institution.
    • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in poultry veterinary practice.
    • Strong knowledge of poultry diseases, diagnosis treatment, and prevention.
    • Familiarity with biosecurity measures and vaccination programs.
    • Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience working in large-scale poultry farms.
    • Knowledge of poultry nutrition and environmental management.
    • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for record-keeping.
