Poultry Farm Equipment Maintenance Technician at Lohachy Farms

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation and Startup: Assemble and set up automated poultry equipment, including feeders, waterers, climate controls, egg collection systems, processing equipment, machinery and power equipment and monitoring tools.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, and cleaning on all farm automation and machinery to maximize efficiency and minimize breakdowns.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Identify and diagnose problems with mechanical, electrical, and electronic components; repair issues or coordinate with specialists when needed.
• System Oversight: Use control panels and software to monitor all automated and power systems, making adjustments as necessary and quickly addressing any alarms or irregularities.
• Record-Keeping: Keep well-organized maintenance logs, repair records, and equipment performance reports for compliance and ongoing improvement.
• Staff Training: Instruct farm staff on proper operation and routine maintenance of automated systems, ensuring everyone is up to speed.
• Safety and Biosecurity: Follow all health, safety, and biosecurity protocols to safeguard both workers and livestock from hazards and disease.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Look for ways to improve processes, reduce costs, boost efficiency, or enhance animal welfare through technological upgrades and Innovations.

Requirements:
Candidate suitable for this position must have:

• Minimum Qualification: HND, Bachelor’s degree, or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Agricultural Engineering.

Skills:

• Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, motors, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, and diagrams.
• Keen attention to detail, with dedication to safety and quality standards.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and respond to emergencies.
