Planning Engineer at Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO)

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos and Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to support the successful delivery of an LNG project. The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, coordinating with cross-functional teams, analyzing project performance, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective execution of the project phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 (or MS Project) in line with project execution plans.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to gather inputs for the schedule.
• Monitor project progress and update schedules accordingly, identifying risks and proposing mitigation plans.
• Perform critical path analysis, delay impact analysis, and progress measurement.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports including S-curves, histograms, and progress summaries.
• Liaise with subcontractors and vendors to ensure alignment of their schedules with the master project schedule.
• Participate in project review meetings and interface with project stakeholders.
• Support cost forecasting by integrating schedule and cost data for earned value management (EVM).
• Ensure compliance with project standards, HSE, and quality requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of planning experience on LNG or oil & gas EPC projects.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Excel; familiarity with project control systems.
• Knowledge of project lifecycle in LNG projects including FEED, EPC, and commissioning phases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.
• Experience working in multi-cultural, remote, or offshore LNG environments.
• Working knowledge of industry codes, standards, and HSE best practices.
