The Pharmacy Assistant supports the pharmacist in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy.
This role involves assisting customers, preparing and labeling medications under supervision, managing inventory, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome and assist customers with inquiries in a professional manner.
Process prescriptions and prepare medication for pharmacist review.
Label and package medications accurately.
Handle over-the-counter (OTC) product sales and provide guidance within approved limits.
Maintain and organize stock, including receiving, storing, and replenishing medicines and supplies.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate in Pharmacy Technician/Assistant is an added advantage.
Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is preferred.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy practices.
