Payroll Specialist at Opay Nigeria

Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing and ensure accurate, timely salary payments in compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, payroll systems experience, and a solid understanding of local payroll regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees.
• Ensure correct computation of salaries, deductions, allowances, bonuses, and statutory payments.
• Maintain and update payroll records, employee data, and salary changes.
• Ensure compliance with tax, pension, NHF, and other statutory regulations.
• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Respond to employee payroll-related queries professionally and efficiently.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure payroll accuracy.
• Prepare payroll reports for management and audits.
• Support payroll system improvements and process optimization.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of hands-on payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and statutory regulations.
• Experience using payroll systems and strong Excel skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in fintech, banking, or multinational organizations.
• Exposure to large or nationwide payrolls.
• Knowledge of HRIS tools and reporting automation.
