Key Responsibilites

• Prepare accurate cutting lists based on approved customer orders and specifications.
• Develop optimization plans to maximize material yield and minimize material waste.
• Ensure accurate edging and lipping information, including edge type, colour, thickness, and application requirements.
• Verify board specifications, including board type, thickness, dimensions, finish, and quantity.
• Prepare jobs accurately and within agreed turnaround times.
• Generate accurate labels and production information for cutting and production.
• Identify and record reusable offcuts for possible use on future jobs.
• Review cutting and optimization results and identify opportunities to improve material utilization.
• Work closely with the Production, Warehouse, Sales, and other relevant teams to ensure smooth job processing.
• Identify and report errors, discrepancies, or incomplete information before production.
• Maintain proper documentation, filing, and traceability of cutting lists, optimization files, and production records.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and production standards.

Requirements

• HND or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Candidates with strong practical experience in furniture manufacturing, cutting-list preparation, and material optimization will also be considered.
• Previous experience in furniture manufacturing, woodworking, cabinetry, panel processing, or a related production environment is an advantage.
• Experience preparing cutting lists and optimizing sheet materials such as MDF, plywood, particleboard, or similar materials.
• Good understanding of board dimensions, cutting patterns, edging/lipping, and production specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and customer specifications.
• Proficiency in relevant optimization, cutting-list, or CAD software.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
