Operations Officer at a Reputable Company

As an Operations Officer in our agritech/agro-allied company specializing in sourcing, agro commodity trading, and export, your role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth and efficient operations across various aspects of our business. You will be responsible for coordinating activities, managing processes, and maintaining seamless workflows to support our sourcing, trading, and export operations.

Responsibilities:

• Sourcing and Supplier Management: Collaborate with the sourcing team to identify potential suppliers and partners. Evaluate suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms to ensure a consistent supply of agro commodities.
• Agro Commodity Trading: Execute trades for agro commodities in accordance with market conditions, pricing, and customer demands. Monitor market trends, analyze pricing data, and make informed trading decisions. Ensure compliance with relevant trading regulations and contracts.
• Export Logistics and Documentation: Oversee the export process, including coordinating logistics, shipping, and customs clearance. Ensure compliance with export regulations, documentation requirements, and quality standards. Maintain accurate records and documentation for export transactions.
• Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure optimal stock levels. Monitor inventory turnover, conduct periodic stock reconciliations, and implement strategies to minimize inventory holding costs.
• Process Optimization: Continuously review and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity. Identify areas for improvement, develop and implement streamlined workflows, and leverage technology solutions to automate tasks where possible.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks related to sourcing, trading, and export activities. Implement risk assessment procedures, monitor market and regulatory changes, and develop contingency plans to minimize potential disruptions.
• Reporting and Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to sourcing, trading, and export operations. Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators, market trends, and operational metrics. Provide insights and recommendations to drive informed decision-making.

Requirements:

• Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in agribusiness, agricultural sciences, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in operations management, agro commodity trading, or a similar role within the agritech/agro-allied industry is highly desirable.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of agro commodity markets, sourcing practices, and international trade regulations. Familiarity with agro-allied operations, supply chain management, and commodity trading platforms is beneficial.
• Analytical and Financial Acumen: Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and financial analysis. Ability to assess market trends, evaluate pricing data, and make informed trading decisions. Familiarity with risk management principles is advantageous.
• Communication and Negotiation Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and logistics providers. Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and effectively communicate trading requirements.
• Detail-Oriented and Organizational Skills: Meticulous attention to detail in managing contracts, documentation, and operational processes. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
