    NOSC (Network Operations and Support Center) Engineer

    Summary

    • The NOSC Engineer is responsible for monitoring, managing, and supporting the performance and availability of network infrastructure across Hoop Telecoms' services.
    • The role ensures real-time response to incidents, service degradation, and outages, enabling smooth and continuous network service to customers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor network systems (fiber, radio, IP, and core infrastructure) using NMS tools and dashboards.
    • Proactively detect, log, escalate, and resolve network issues or performance degradation.
    • Coordinate with field support, IP, and radio teams for troubleshooting and incident resolution.
    • Perform first-level diagnosis and support for incidents across access, distribution, and core layers.
    • Track and follow up on trouble tickets and escalation until closure within defined SLAs.
    • Generate and interpret network availability, performance, and fault reports.
    • Maintain communication with customers and internal teams during service outages or planned maintenance.
    • Participate in post-incident reviews and root cause analysis.
    • Support preventive maintenance activities and scheduled network upgrades.
    • Document network issues, resolutions, and routine operational tasks accurately.
    • Ensure 24/7 coverage in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per rotation.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical / Electronics, or Telecommunications Engineering.
    • 5 years of relevant experience in a telecoms NOC/NOSC environment.
    • Strong knowledge of IP networking, routing, switching, and Layer 2/3 protocols.
    • Familiarity with technologies such as fiber optics, microwave radio, GPON, MPLS, and VoIP.
    • Ability to work under pressure and in a high-availability environment.
    • Good communication, documentation, and escalation management skills.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or related vendor-specific training.
    • Experience in incident management, fault resolution, and change control processes.
    • Familiarity with customer support or technical helpdesk systems.
