    Nigeria – Wash Program Manager (M/F) – Monguno

    ABOUT THE JOB

    Job description:

    The WASH Program Manager is in charge of implementing and achieving the objectives defined in the proposals (the entire Project Management Cycle). He/she is in charge of supervising the operational teams allocated to his/her program with support from the Field Coordinator. He/she guarantees the proper execution and the quality of the implemented programs and, if applicable, suggests adjustments or developments to ensure its relevance.

    More specifically, he/she is responsible for:

    • Relevance, quality and project design

    • Implementation and operational monitoring

    • Capitalization

    • Human Resource Management

    • Communication / representation / reporting

    Main challenges:

    • Adapt to a work environment in a context, isolated and volatile in terms of security

    • Challenges in the supply of project materials

    Priorities for the 2/3 first months:

    • The WASH program manager will lead the project from the start, including a situation analysis phase in order to best adapt the intervention strategy, including the social component

    • Recruitment of his/her team

    • Close monitoring and control of different project activities in Monguno

    • Concerted follow-up with the logistics department for the smooth flow of project supplies

    YOUR PROFILE

    Specific skills and experience:

    • Professional experience: 12 months of experience in a similar position

    • Experience in remote management would be an asset

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, working knowledge of spreadsheet and database management.

    • Experience in security management in unstable environments

    • Knowledge of SI’s rules, tools and procedures

    General skills:

    • Strong interest in context and security analysis

    • Ability to work under pressure, with peaks of heavy workload

    • Adaptability to changing work environment and possible volatile security situation

    • Outstanding communication skills, including on partial remote management

    • Leadership and capacity building skills

    Language:

    • English is mandatory

    SI WILL OFFER YOU

    A salaried position
    According to experience, starting from EUR 1800 gross per month (+ 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly i.e. 1980 euros gross per month) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 600. SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.

    Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months.

    Social and health cover
    Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.

    LIVING CONDITIONS:

    The Wash Program Manager will be based in Maiduguri, where all the coordination and regional teams are based.

    In Maiduguri, the base offers a comfortable environment despite limited movements outside of the compound for security reasons. The Guest House offers good living conditions, with a private bedroom and bathroom and shared and comfortable common spaces. Electricity and internet are available at the office and at the GH at all times. Volleyball and badminton court, ping pong, and some gym equipment are available in the GH. All essential goods (food, hygiene etc..) can be bought locally in the small shops around the office, or in the pre-validated supermarket. Maiduguri has a good social life, even though the Covid-19 context has slowed it down. Visits to other NGOs are possible, as well as some pre-validated places.
