Network Security Engineer at a Reputable Solution Company

Job Purpose:

The Network Security Engineer will ensure that applications and infrastructure are implemented to the highest security standards, thus maintaining and enhancing Client’s trust in the brand. 
He/She will work in partnership with the Sales team, to help Clients determine the best technology solutions to meet their business needs, also to make products and services recommendations and educate customers on how each will provide business value to them.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Security

• To participate in security audits and security log analysis for Clients as required by them.
• Expertise across a variety of security products including firewalls, URL filtering, information security and virus protection.
• Identify current and emerging technology issues including security trends, vulnerabilities and threats as required by Clients.
• Conduct proactive research to analyze security weaknesses (within the Client environment) and recommend appropriate strategies.
• Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information.

Pre-Sales

• Work with the sales team to up-sell and cross-sell Clients into broader products and services for the Company.
• Participate in conferences, shows, exhibitions when appropriate and requested on behalf of the Company.
• Proactively scope the technical solution required to address Client’s requirements, assess Client’s met and unmet needs, and recommend optimum solutions, ensuring appropriate support for any proposed/ongoing project.
• Provide presales technical, functional support in a range of products & services as required by Clients.
• Use technical skills to demonstrate to potential Clients the usefulness of the product or service and how it may suit the Client better than competing products.
• Develop relationships with partners, creating trusted long-term relationships and generating opportunities.
• Participate in security audits and security log analysis for Clients as required by them.
• Conduct proactive research to analyze security weaknesses (within the Client environment) and recommend appropriate strategies

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s /Higher National Degree in Computer engineering, cyber security, information systems.
• Proven work experience as a network security engineer or information security engineer.
• Not less than four (4) years of industry experience, including two or more years in pre- sales engineering or consulting.
• Thorough understanding of the latest technologies, security principles, and protocols.
