NET Engineer (Mobile Applications) at African Industries Group (AIG)

Position Overview

• We are seeking a skilled and motivated .NET Engineerwith proven experience in developing and deploying mobile applications.
• The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the .NET framework, C#, Xamarin, or .NET MAUI, and a solid background in building scalable, user-friendly, and high-performance mobile apps for iOS and Android platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications using .NET technologies (Xamarin / .NET MAUI).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, backend developers, and product managers, to define, design, and ship new features.
• Develop and integrate APIs, web services, and third-party libraries into mobile applications.
• Optimise application performance, improve responsiveness, and ensure scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
• Implement mobile application security and data protection measures.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in mobile applications.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in .NET and mobile app development.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of experiencein software development with strong knowledge of .NET (C#, ASP.NET).
• Hands-on experience in mobile app developmentusing Xamarin.Forms / Xamarin.Native / .NET MAUI.
• Experience in RESTful APIs, Web APIs, and JSON/XML integration.
• Strong understanding of mobile app UI/UX design principles.
• Familiarity with mobile app lifecycle, deployment processes (Google Play Store / Apple App Store).
• Knowledge of SQL databases (SQL Server, SQLite, or similar).
• Experience with version control systems (Git, Azure DevOps, or similar).
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Azure cloud services for mobile app backends.
• Knowledge of push notifications, mobile analytics, and in-app purchases.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
