    Mooring Master

    Job Overview

    • The Mooring Master is responsible for the safe and efficient berthing, unberthing, and mooring operations of vessels at the terminal or offshore location. This role involves supervising loading and unloading processes, ensuring compliance with international maritime standards, and collaborating with ship and shore personnel to maintain seamless operations.

    Key Responsibilities
    Vessel Operations:

    • Safely maneuver and moor vessels, including tankers, to and from terminal berths or offshore Single Point Mooring (SPM) buoys.
    • Provide pilotage services for arriving and departing vessels.

    Cargo Handling:

    • Oversee cargo transfer operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
    • Monitor the connection and disconnection of loading arms or hoses.

    Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to international regulations such as MARPOL, SOLAS, and ISGOTT during all operations.
    • Conduct pre-arrival inspections and safety briefings for vessel crew.

    Troubleshooting:

    • Identify and address operational challenges, including mechanical issues or adverse weather conditions.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed records of operations, incidents, and performance metrics.
    • Submit reports to port authorities and company management as required.

    Training and Supervision:

    • Train and mentor junior staff and ensure the team operates effectively.
    • Liaise with captains, engineers, and terminal staff for coordinated operations.

    Key Qualifications

    • Education: Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or related fields.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in marine operations, with at least 2 years as a Mooring Master or similar role.
    • Certifications: STCW, GMDSS, or other relevant maritime certifications.

    Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of tanker operations and mooring equipment.
    • Proficiency in navigation, maneuvering, and offshore terminal operations.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
    • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Offshore or port terminal-based, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
    • Rotational shifts are common, including night operations.
