    Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant

    INTRODUCTION

    Since the late 1990s, Mercy Corps has managed over 100 peacebuilding and conflict management projects in over 30 countries and regions, making Mercy Corps a true leader in the field. We currently implement 34 peacebuilding programs in some of the world’s toughest places. The Community Initiatives to Promote Peace (CIPP) is a 60-month Cooperative Agreement with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

    Mercy Corps, implement it in partnership with Pastoral Resolve – PARE, Interfaith Mediation Centre – IMC, Savannah Centre for Diplomacy Democracy and Development - SCDDD, and African Radio Drama Association – ARDA CIPP aims to: Promote peaceful coexistence and collaboration in Nigeria by mitigating violent conflict in at-risk communities in six states of Nigeria’s North West (Kaduna, Kano, and Katsina States) and North Central (Kogi, Benue and Plateau States) through an integrated, multifaceted program that (1) empowers communities to prevent and respond to violence and violent extremism by strengthening key skills and relationships, and (2) fosters an enabling environment for peace through policy advocacy, media outreach, and linkages to development programs.

    Mercy Corps is looking for a consultant that will support the CIPP programme with the filing of soft copies of programme documents on the MC drive and hard copies in the fireproof cabinet.

    PURPOSE:

    The consultant will support the Project in ensuring that documentation is up to date and is in compliance with MC and donor policies. Key among the tasks include  Program Retention exercise, annual indicator surveys, Orange Door Data Analysis  as well as supporting field level research activities.

    TIMEFRAME

    1st October 2021 – 30th September 2022

     KEY  RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Update record retention on the MC drive
    • Work closely with the MC Strategic Learning Manager to file and archive both soft and hard copies of CIPP programme documents right from inception to date.
    • Support the MEL team with database entry of CIPP program participants  
    • Support the MEL team in data collection, collation, and database entry
    • Support the MEL team with Context monitoring on the Orange Door dashboard.
    • Updates the security incidence dashboard.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    • Consultant should have a minimum of a B.Sc/HND in any Social Science field
    • Minimum of 1-year experience in M&E (fieldwork, data collection, report writing, documentation etc.)
    • Prior experience working on development programmes
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • The Consultant should have basic ICT skills
    • A sound track record in developing and conducting research
    • Proven skills in the use of Microsoft Office package
    • Experience in data collection and analysis using participatory methodology.
    • Possess a degree of flexibility to work and availability to respond to comments and questions in a timely and appropriate manner.
    • High regard for organizational culture.
    • Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, and reporting

    REMUNERATION

    The consultant is expected to work for 118 days for this contract duration

    ACCOUNTABILITY:

    Reports directly to: CIPP MEL Manager
