The Role

We are currently putting together the foundational team and are looking to bring on a Mobile Developer to work on the development of our products. This is an opportunity to be the lead in a start-up project & part of something impactful. There are currently 10 members of the foundational team & 5 members of the product/technical development team consisting of 2 senior back-end engineers, 2 product designers & 1 Senior QA engineer. The team consists of talented individuals with experience working with the likes of Improbable, PoshMark, Inpost, ChipperCash, Andela, Nomba, Busha and more. All members of the foundational team have been issued options to cover renumeration (equity within the company following a vesting period) and the ideal candidate will be issued the same.

Responsibilities

• Set the standard for mobile development practices for both Android & iOS in the long-term.

• Perform full life-cycle development.

• Utilises source control, continuous integration, and unit testing best practices.

• Work cross-functionally to define and write code for new features.

• Developing Braudit's mobile application for Android & iOS.

• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.

• Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency.

• Collaborate with back-end developers and product designers to improve usability.

• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.

• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to ensure development efficiency.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging responsive mobile applications for Android & iOS using tools/languages like Flutter, Dart etc.

This candidate will be able to translate user and business needs into functional products. Experience in development for both Android & iOS is essential. The ideal candidate should:

• Comfortable working independently and owning the role.

• Willing to commit to a start-up and the challenges that comes with scaling a start-up.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related fields.

• Have 3+ years’ of experience with Flutter & Dart (Essential).

• Proven software development experience in Android & iOS application development (Essential).

• have familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.

• Experience with RESTful APIs (Nice to have).

• Have published at least one original Android app independently or as part of a team (Essential).

• Have published at least one iOS app independently or as part of a team (Essential).

• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.

• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.

• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.

• Experience with video streaming (preferred).

• Experience with Real-Time Mobile Management (Essential).

• Have strong time-management skills.
