MEP Senior Quantity Surveyor at Construction Kaiser Limited

Summary

• Manage the costs on all projects, specifically the Mechanical and electrical packages, identify cost overruns and savings areas, minimize effects at the early stage, and ensure project margin objectives are achieved.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure operational targets are met on all MEP Works (Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical) and Pricing, Rate Buildup of Materials, Labor, Plants are valid, etc.
• Check Bills of Quantities for anomalies (arithmetic, extension, and collection errors)
• General contract administration by ensuring subcontract agreements are signed and that all activities are within the ambient of that contract
• Prepare project cash flow
• Monitor project progress and maintain up-to-date project measurement
• Reconfirm take-off material quantities to prepare for purchase
• Liaise with the procurement team to ensure materials are delivered to the site as/when due
• Submit and agree on the monthly contract value of work done
• Measure work done and agree on sub-contractors' payments
• Prepare, submit, and agree on variations for consultants'/client’s approval
• Prepare, submit, and agree project claims for consultants/client’s approval
• Measure and agree on the final account with consultants or other client rep
• Develop financial plans, including budgeting and forecasting for the short and long-term
• Analyze the business performance, including the profitability, revenue, pricing, and project cost
• Manage budgets, expense pricing, and commercial arrangements
• Lead role in advising around pricing for commercial contracts
• Manage relationships with key operations vendors
• Conduct in-depth reviews of all projects or contract documents and provide detailed reports
• Manage changes to the project scope, time, and cost to ensure a positive effect on quality and contract sum
• Work with the technical team to ensure all project close-out documentation is completed and submitted
• Report all potential financial and operational risks and escalate issues as required

Educational Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of HND / B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying
• 6-8 years of relevant experience
• Membership in NIQS is an added advantage
• Excellent commercial awareness
