Massage Therapist at Sigma Consult

About the Role

• We are seeking a highly skilled and client-focused Massage Therapist to deliver exceptional therapeutic and wellness massage treatments within a premium hospitality environment. 
• The successful candidate will provide personalized massage therapies that promote relaxation, recovery, pain relief, stress reduction, and overall wellbeing while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, hygiene, and customer care.
• The ideal candidate is passionate about holistic wellness, possesses excellent therapeutic skills, and is committed to delivering an outstanding luxury wellness experience to members and guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a wide range of professional massage treatments, including Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, Relaxation Massage, Recovery Therapy, and other therapeutic body treatments.
• Conduct comprehensive client consultations before each treatment to assess medical history, lifestyle, contraindications, preferences, and treatment goals.
• Recommend appropriate treatment plans and wellness therapies based on individual client needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, physiotherapists, wellness coaches, and personal trainers to support integrated rehabilitation and recovery programmes.
• Monitor client responses during treatment and modify techniques where necessary to ensure safety and comfort.
• Educate clients on post-treatment care, recovery strategies, stretching, hydration, and self-care practices.
• Maintain accurate treatment records, consultation notes, and client progress documentation.
• Ensure treatment rooms are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and presentation.
• Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, linens, oils, and supplies before and after each appointment.
• Monitor inventory levels of massage oils, consumables, towels, linens, and treatment supplies while reporting replenishment needs.
• Adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols, workplace health and safety regulations, and professional ethical standards.
• Build strong relationships with members by delivering personalized, discreet, and exceptional customer service.
• Promote wellness services and recommend suitable treatments, recovery programmes, and wellness packages where appropriate.
• Participate in wellness events, promotional activities, and member engagement programmes.
• Keep abreast of emerging massage techniques, wellness trends, and industry best practices through continuous professional development.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Massage Therapy, Complementary Health, Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or a related healthcare discipline.
• Certified Massage Therapist from a recognized professional institution.
• Minimum of 3–5 years' professional experience in massage therapy within a luxury spa, five-star hotel, wellness centre, rehabilitation clinic, or premium hospitality environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, Therapeutic Massage, and Recovery Therapy.
• Additional certifications in Myofascial Release, Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Hot Stone Therapy, or Trigger Point Therapy will be an added advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, contraindications, and client safety.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Professional appearance with exceptional grooming and personal hygiene.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when working with high-profile clients.
• Proficiency in appointment scheduling systems, electronic client records, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays where required.
• Must reside in Abuja or be willing to relocate.
