About the Role

• The role of a Managing Director is one that requires you to provide leadership to the organization according to the plan set by the Board of Directors. You will be responsible for positioning the firm as the most innovative, technology-driven asset management firm in Africa.
• The ideal candidate will be business savvy and possess the right mix of leadership, passion, energy and experience to run an asset management business with significant digital operations. Presence of a strong network in the financial services and technology industry is important as you will be required to form strategic partnership with other companies to achieve the firm's objectives.
• The right candidate will be responsible for building and working with cross-functional teams to deliver strongly on the objectives of the firm within set timelines.

Job Responsibilities

• Report to the Board, and have primary responsibility for driving the strategic objectives of the organization in accordance with set policies and within regulatory framework, for the purpose of achieving growth and profitable operations
• Develop, implement and monitor business strategies, roadmaps, organizational structure, policies and controls for the asset management business, as approved by the Board
• Set the organizational culture, values and behavior
• Build and motivate a high performance, innovative and results-driven product development,
• Marketing, customer satisfaction and administrative team
• Ensure the firmТs objectives and standards of performance are understood and owned by management and employees
• Maintain awareness of the competitive market landscape, expansion opportunities and industry development
• Monitor the company's achievement and maintenance of a satisfactory competitive position within the asset management industry
• Build and maintain relationships with strategic customers, regulators, partners and stakeholders
• Establish strategic partnerships with other companies to achieve the firmТs growth targets
• Communicate, on behalf of the company, with service providers, business partners, consultants, regulatory entities, employees, and the general public.
• Ensure firm-wide adherence to all applicable risk, regulatory, legal and compliance requirements
• Oversee the company's financial activities, including budgeting, reporting and auditing

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with excellent academic credentials
• Must be a current Sponsored Individual with Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission
• A minimum of 10 years of business experience with active participation in the financial markets and with at least 4 years in investment management at a senior management level.
• Possess strong business development, strategic planning and execution skills
• Possess excellent leadership, negotiation, management, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of building innovative and collaborative teams
• Strong desire to lead from a strategic and tactical perspective in all aspects of day to day company operations
• Willingness to be hands-on and a self-starter to work in a fast-paced environment
