Building a high-quality team which will deliver advisory services to various clients across debt and equity capital markets, financial advisory, principal investments and other business lines.
Developing a high-quality strategy (in terms of customer acquisition, transaction execution, client retention and market communication) by which Regius Capital will chart its success in a competitive market.
Working with appointed consultants to review and validate a business plan which will guide the operations and growth of the company, over the initial three or five year period.
Taking responsibility for meeting set performance budgets, in terms of profitability, deal numbers and sizes as well as fee yields.
Leading the process of obtaining the necessary registrations and certifications with the relevant regulators, to enable the business serve its clients
Developing (or leading the development of) process and execution manuals to facilitate excellent standards in transaction execution
Identifying specific sectors with significant transaction potential and along with other senior members of the team, lead business development efforts towards winning mandates from potential clients across all categories
Serving as Chief Coverage and Relationship Manager; ensuring the development, maintenance and extension of high-quality relationships with various clients.
Developing relationships with local and international investors (private capital investors, venture capital funds, development finance institutions, pension funds, asset managers, strategic investors etc.), to ensure success of various transaction types.
Remain fully abreast of financial market conditions and regulations, to ensure that Clients are advised appropriately
Provide guidance, supervision and mentorship to members of the Regius Capital team, to ensure a friendly, high-performance culture, a can-do spirit and an atmosphere of continuous learning.
Requirements
Strong experience in executing investment banking transactions (covering various types) in Nigeria and/or at least one other African country
Excellent presentation, communication (written and oral) and relationship management skills.
Broad thinking and ability to adapt multiple approaches towards achieving goals and resolving challenges
Outstanding leadership and mentoring skills
Must have a good knowledge of regulatory requirements and relationships with Nigerian regulatory authorities (SEC, NSE and FCCPC).
Qualifying females are encouraged to apply.
Postgraduate qualification in finance and/or management, such as MBA, M.Sc. Finance, Economics or Accounting will be required.
Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, ACS, CFA, CAIA would also be beneficial
Fifteen (15) years cognate experience in investment banking and finance, with a minimum of 5 years of team management experience
Strong relationships with various institutional investor classes, including pension funds, asset managers, trustees, private equity funds and development finance institutions
Strong relationships with regulatory institutions (particularly SEC, FMDQ Group and NGX) will be a critical factor
