The Logistics Manager, Nigeria is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring efficient movement of goods in line with the 7Rs of logistics—right product, quantity, condition, place, time, customer, and cost.
This role requires strong expertise in import/export operations, customs regulations, and international trade compliance within Nigeria, ensuring seamless delivery while minimizing delays and costs. The role will work closely with the Regional/Global Logistics teams and Demand Planning to ensure alignment with business needs
Role & Responsibilities
Logistics & Import/Export Operations
- Manage end-to-end import and export processes, including shipments from China and inter-country transfers
- Handle Letter of Credit (LC) review, interpretation, and documentation preparation
- Coordinate shipping arrangements (air and sea freight) with logistics partners
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian customs regulations and international trade laws
Regulatory & Documentation
- Oversee Form M processing, PAAR, SONCAP, and NAFDAC (where applicable) documentation
- Verify HS codes for accurate duty classification and smooth clearance
- Ensure complete and accurate shipment documentation for audit purposes
Order Processing & Inventory Coordination
- Oversee timely processing of Sales Orders, Credit Memos and In-warranty orders
- Ensure delivery turnaround time (TAT) of 24 hours for partner orders
Financial & Cost Control
- Validate logistics-related costs (shipping lines, terminal charges, clearing fees)
- Raise and manage Purchase Orders for logistics vendors
- Support:
- Duty estimation for finance planning
- Keep track of all shipping line charges and statutory related costs
- Accurate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) allocation
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Evaluate and manage clearing agents and transport providers against SLAs
- Collaborate with Demand Planning, Finance, Sales, Aftersales, Global Logistics Team
- Collaborate with Nigeria Customs for all shipping related duties
Insurance & Risk Management
- Manage stock insurance policies - Fidelity guarantee and Stock loss claims
- Liaise with insurers and loss adjusters for claims processing
.Desired Skills and Experience
- A degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field is required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of Nigerian customs processes
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Sound commercial and financial modeling capability
- Understanding of Warehouse processes and procedures
- Good verbal and written communication skills
