The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the transportation and storage aspects of materials, as well as coordinating their registration with diverse regulatory bodies; additionally, it involves being a liaison between stakeholders to address trade and regulatory concerns.
Duties will include the following:
Manage contract agreements and relationships with LSPs for timely clearing/delivery and SLA compliance, while ensuring prompt payment by coordinating service provider invoice processing
Conduct regular benchmarking to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness while continuously evaluating LSPs' KPIs for operational excellence in logistics services
Analyze and optimize logistics operations to minimize delivery times and transportation costs, and improve customer service
Liaise with LSPs, customs authorities, and regulatory bodies to secure timely clearance of goods using fast-track & transpire processing methods when required
Resolve any shipment clearance issues promptly together with customs agents and stakeholders
Facilitate compliant disposal of expired materials according to regulations
Stay updated on trade facilitation regulations, personnel updates, global developments impacting logistics operations
Process import permits, clearances, documentation for regulated goods in coordination with regulatory bodies while coordinating license renewals/approvals including Fast-track licenses
Maintain a professional relationship with regulatory bodies involved in trade facilitation
Monitor movement compliance within Nigeria; ensure adherence to applicable regulations/procedures
Optimize routing, scheduling, and transport planning to meet delivery requirements; minimize transit times
Qualifications
A university degree in business, science, supply chain management, or a similar field of study
At least three years of previous work experience in sales or logistics
A minimum of five years experience working in the freight industry, customs-related areas, or have a background in supply chain consulting within Market Area Africa
Proficiency in using SAP software and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English
