Lift Engineer at Churchgate Group

The Lift Operations/Maintenance Engr is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all lift systems within the facility. This includes conducting daily inspections, diagnosing and coordinating repairs, and overseeing preventive maintenance activities. 

The role involves supervising contractors, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and responding promptly to emergencies such as lift entrapments. Additionally, the Engr. trains and supports lift operators and contributes to the continuous improvement of lift performance and safety.

Job Details

• Perform daily routine inspections of all lifts and ensure their operational readiness.
• Diagnose faults and carry out or coordinate necessary repairs to minimize lift downtime.
• Supervise and support contractors during periodic preventive maintenance and major lift servicing.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, faults, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure that lift communication systems (emergency phones, alarms) are fully functional.
• Respond promptly to lift emergencies, including lift traps, and coordinate passenger rescue safely.
• Ensure lifts comply with all statutory safety regulations and company policies.
• Provide technical reports and recommendations on lift upgrades, replacements, and improvements.
• Conduct training and oversight of lift operators and support staff. 
• Collaborate with vendors on service level agreements (SLAs) and performance reviews.

Requirements

Education:

• Minimum of HND or B.Tech. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

Experience: 

• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in lift operations, maintenance, installation, or engineering in high-rise or commercial buildings.
