Job Description

• Underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet Life Underwriting targets.
• Conduct comprehensive technical assessment of transactions for Life LoB
• Verify offers received according to guidelines and assess risks / Ensure Facultative Reinsurance placement.
• Define the underwriting’s modalities of a contract (agreement, pricing, guaranties).
• Ensure an efficient management of the pipeline: follow up of sales funnels and the department’s KPIs.  
• Assesses client related standard requests and conduct Underwriting technical assessments.
• Implement the technical standards, controls, practices and procedures defined to preserve underwriting discipline
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with intermediaries and clients.
• Ensure compliance with the deadlines for the validation of pricing offers.
• Develops and maintains market and client overviews with a strong focus on Employee Benefits LoB.
• Develops expertise in sub-LoBs and is ready to present in workshops in front of internal experts.
• Evaluates standard new and renewal business for Employee Benefits LoB in line with Underwriting  guidelines  and strategy.                                                    

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of detailed working experience in insurance or reinsurance environment.
• CIIN is an added advantage.
• Good technical knowledge of LoB products, coverages, UW practices, pricing processes and applicable local laws / regulations.
• Knowledge of wordings and non-standard clauses.        
• Complex problem solving and decision making skills.
• Strategic and Operational Leadership skills.
• Contract Drafting and Interpretation skills. 
• Excellent Negotiation skill.
