Key Elements of the Post

• The Librarian is responsible for the smooth running of the Library
• Framing library policies, personal contacts and liaising with departments
• Performing library budget
• Responsible for establishing policy for library exchange
• Engaging in matters of common interest
• Performing other duties that may be assigned by the provost.

Qualifications and Skills

• He must be a holder of at least a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc), Higher National Diploma (HND) or Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Library or Information Science.

Tenure

• Shall be for an initial term of 4 years and is renewable for a second and final term of another 4 years following satisfactory performance.
• Other conditions are as applicable to all other tertiary institutions in Gombe State.
