    Job Description

    • Provide Legal support and oversee client relationship.
    • Vets all processes, document and all outgoing correspondences.
    • Review Research documents and case histories to ensure accuracy of  advice and procedures.
    • Draft and interpret a wide variety of legal agreements, engagement letters, other legal documents and Provide advice on corporate legal issues and business matters.
    • Develop and discuss legal strategies, while also supporting team members to gather evidence to support claims, prepare legal documents and represent clients in court on legal matters.
    • Liaise with external solicitors to ensure that litigation matters involving the company are handled with expertise.
    • Negotiate, execute, terminate, and administer contracts, agreements, and settlements.
    • Represent clients in litigation proceedings. Arbitration proceedings and enforcements proceedings regrading court orders and arbitration awards.
    • Provide research support to teams in the search of case history and legislation and applying relevant laws and degrees regulations to cases.

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Administration - Measures effectiveness in planning, organizing and efficiently handling activities and eliminating unnecessary activities
    • Turn-around time on assigned task.
    • Communication - Measures effectiveness in listening to others, expressing ideas, both orally and in writing and providing relevant and timely information to management, and members of staff.
    • Dependability - Measures how well employee complies with instructions and performs under unusual circumstances; consider record of attendance and punctuality.
    • Teamwork - Measures how well employee gets along with fellow employees, respects the rights of other employees and shows a cooperative spirit.
    • Decision Making/Problem Solving - Measures effectiveness in understanding problems and making timely, practical decisions.

    Qualifications

    • LLB Degree and Barrister at Law qualification
    • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
    • Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association is essential
    • Master’s degree will be an added advantage
    • Strong knowledge of corporate law.
