    Legal Associate

    The ideal candidate needs to understand the people, goals, and risks. He/She must be highly detail-oriented, able to prioritize and manage interruptions, able to manage others, and possess strong oral and written communication skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings.
    • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys.
    • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients.
    • Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently.
    • Interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and interviewing experts to support the client’s case.
    • Preparing witnesses for court appearances by coaching them on what to say and how to behave during testimony.
    • Communicating with clients throughout the litigation process to keep them informed about the status of their cases and any new developments.
    • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff.
    • Verify documents and draft reports in respect of findings

    Qualifications

    • 2-3 years of post- cognate experience in a law firm and legal practice with an LLB in law from a reputable university.
    • Ability to conduct in-depth legal research.
    • Experience in drafting, negotiating and reviewing legal documents.
    • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
    • Natural leader who displays sound judgment and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills.
