JOB PURPOSE

• Lecturer I denotes academic maturity and leadership; a scholar-practitioner who coordinates courses and clinics, mentors others, advances impactful research, and anchors UAST’s ambition for safe, evidence-informed integrative healthcare.
• The job purpose is to deliver high-quality independent teaching and supervised clinical leadership, lead impactful research and innovation, mentor junior staff, and contribute to institutional governance and accreditation.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate core CAM courses and supervised clinical modules.
• Supervise undergraduate research/projects and community interventions.
• Lead/co-lead funded research, safety frameworks, or translational innovations.
• Publish in reputable journals; engage stakeholders and regulators.
• Serve on School/University committees and accreditation teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in CAM/Integrative Health or Senate-approved cognate with strong CAM scholarship.
• A minimum of four (4) publications, at least two (2) in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
• Evidence of validated innovations (protocols, products progressing through regulatory pathways, digital tools) is an added advantage.
• Active membership of recognised national/international CAM or integrative health bodies.

Academic Qualifications (Mandatory)

• PhD in CAM/Integrative Health or Senate-approved cognate with strong CAM scholarship.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

• At least three (3) years as Lecturer II (or equivalent).
