About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Integration & API Engineer (Level 3) to oversee the design, development, and management of enterprise system integrations. This senior role involves leading the analysis, design, and implementation of APIs, scripting in Python, and managing integration frameworks to ensure seamless communication between business systems and applications. The successful candidate will also provide leadership to junior engineers and contribute to architectural decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the design, development, and maintenance of system integrations and APIs.
2. Manage scripting and programming tasks with a focus on Python-based automation and integration.
3. Oversee technical analysis, design, and implementation of integration solutions.
4. Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and IT teams to define integration requirements.
5. Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of integration frameworks.
6. Support and troubleshoot complex API/integration issues, acting as the highest escalation point.
7. Contribute to architecture reviews, technology roadmaps, and solution design.
8. Mentor junior and mid-level developers on integration, Python programming, and API standards.
9. Maintain comprehensive documentation of APIs, scripts, and integration workflows.
10. Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security policies, and best practices.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
2. 5+ years’ experience in systems integration, API development, and application support.
3. Advanced proficiency in Python scripting, programming, and automation frameworks.
4. Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and middleware/integration platforms.
5. Experience with cloud integration (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
6. Familiarity with enterprise integration tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Apache Camel) is an advantage.
7. Strong problem-solving, debugging, and leadership skills.
8. Relevant certifications (e.g., Python Institute, API/Integration, Cloud Solutions Architect) are a plus.
