A leading oil and gas exploration company in Lagos is seeking an experienced Lead Accountant to join our finance team. This is a tremendous opportunity for a highly skilled accounting professional to take ownership of our accounting operations. 

Requirement For Consideration: 

• Qualified chartered accountant with full membership of ICAN 
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the oil & gas industry
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS and Nigerian tax regulations
• Highly proficient in accounting software like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics etc.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Strong management, communication and interpersonal skills 
• Experience with process improvements and system implementations 

Essential:

• Oversee the full accounting cycle including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, policies, procedures and controls
• Prepare accurate financial statements, reports and analysis for management
• Supervise and mentor a team of accountants
• Collaborate with other departments on budgeting, forecasting and financial planning 
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement new accounting software/systems
