    Knowledge Management Consultant

    UN Women has collaborated with and supported various partners to develop knowledge products such as policy briefs, training manuals, toolkits, testimonials, awareness campaign materials, assessment reports, advocacy templates, etc. to support capacity building, disseminate best practices, guide decision-making, and to plan and execute project interventions. In a bid to engender continuous use and phase-over of the knowledge products to other relevant stakeholders towards advancing decision-making and future programme development relating to the elimination of violence against women and girls post-Spotlight implementation.

    UN Women is seeking the expertise of a  qualified consultant to collate and build a well-organized repository of products developed through the implementation of the Spotlight Initiative. The Consultant will further support the drafting and review of donor and country office reports related to the Spotlight Initiative. This process is intended to streamline the knowledge products, making it easier for organizations to make informed decisions.

    The consultant will work closely with UN Women to deliver on the following elements:

    • Collate and oversee a repository of knowledge products and lessons learned developed by UN Women and partners throughout the life cycle of the Spotlight Initiative ensuring cross-country office dissemination and awareness of SI KM products
    • Provide substantive inputs to donor and country office annual reports as they align with the Spotlight Initiative and wider Ending Violence Against Women thematic area
    • In collaboration with communications colleagues, outline and support dissemination  plan of knowledge products developed within the Spotlight Initiative products including with civil society organisations, government, donor partners and the private sector
    • Support lessons learned and monitoring and evaluation exercises in collaboration with UN Women M&E team and the Spotlight Initiative PMU with the verification of the data in the reports submitted by UN Women‘s implementing partners on the Spotlight Initiative
    • Provide all completed final products, tools, datasets, infographics, and raw .indd files to UN Women. The consultant will be required to maintain an audit trail of the feedback from UN Women and provide a response on how they were addressed.

    Functional Competencies

    • Strong competencies in programme formulation, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation
    • Strong experience on knowledge and communications management
    • Ability to synthesize program performance data and produce analytical reports to inform management and strategic decision-making
    • Strong knowledge of the ICT, including desktop publishing
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Ability to identify and analyze trends, opportunities and threats to fundraising and develop strategies

    Required Skills and Experience

    Recruitment Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree or equivalent in knowledge and information management, social science and arts related discipline
    • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
    • A project/programme management certification would be an added advantage

    Experience:

    • At least five years experience working on issues of gender-based violence, gender equality and women’s rights, human rights and or global development
    • Proven experience in knowledge management consulting, with a track record of successful projects.
    • Excellent communication and training facilitation skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Language Requirements:

    • Fluency in English  is required;
    • Working knowledge of another official UN language is an asset;
