    Junior Legal Assistant

    Location: Ikota - Ajah, Lagos

    The Role

    • The Junior Legal Assistant will provide essential administrative, operational, and research support to our legal department. You will play a vital role in keeping our legal operations structured, ensuring meticulous record-keeping, and assisting with regulatory compliance and document drafting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Document Management & Drafting: Prepare, format, and review basic legal documents, contracts, internal memos, and correspondence. Ensure all templates and legal agreements are organized and up to date.
    • Legal Research: Conduct preliminary research on relevant Nigerian labor laws, regulatory standards, corporate compliance, and specific legal inquiries as directed by senior counsel.
    • Regulatory Compliance Support: Assist in tracking compliance deadlines, preparing statutory filings, and maintaining documentation for various regulatory bodies (e.g., CAC, FIRS, LIRS).
    • Administrative Excellence: Organize and maintain physical and digital legal files, manage the legal department's calendar, track contract renewal dates, and coordinate meetings.
    • Liaison & Communication: Act as a professional point of contact for internal departments and external stakeholders regarding legal administrative matters, maintaining an official, diplomatic tone.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • Education: LL.B degree from a recognized university. (Completion of the Nigerian Law School and B.L. is an added advantage, but passionate recent graduates or those awaiting NYSC deployment are welcome to apply).
    • Experience: 0 to 2 years of experience in a law firm or a corporate legal department.

    Skills:

    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (an ability to communicate firmly yet diplomatically).
    • High attention to detail with strong proofreading abilities.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research tools.
    • Traits: A strong work ethic, high integrity, a willingness to learn, and strict adherence to organizational decorum and confidentiality.

     Salary

    • N200,000 - N250,000 per month.
