Job Summary

• We're seeking a Junior Database Administrator to support the maintenance, monitoring, and performance of database systems.
• This role helps ensure data availability, integrity, and security while gaining hands-on experience with database technologies and operations.

Responsibilities
Database Support & Maintenance:

• Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Monitor database performance and availability using standard tools.
• Support backup and recovery operations under the guidance of senior DBAs.

Data Integrity & Security:

• Help implement and monitor database security measures, including user access and permissions.
• Participate in data validation and integrity checks.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with data governance and security policies.

Troubleshooting & Optimization:

• Respond to basic database-related incidents and service requests.
• Escalate complex issues to senior DBAs with proper documentation.
• Learn and apply basic performance tuning techniques.

Documentation & Learning:

• Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes.
• Participate in training and development programs to build DBA skills.
• Stay updated on database technologies and best practices.

Education & Certifications

• 4-year degree in Information Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
• AWS Certified Database – Specialty.
• ITIL Certification (Foundation or Expert v3 / Managing Professional / Master preferred).
• MongoDB Certified DBA Associate (if applicable).
• PostgreSQL Associate Certification (optional but beneficial).
• CompTIA Server+ (for foundational server knowledge).

Experience & Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in database administration or IT support.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
• Experience installing and configuring databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Exposure to database monitoring, backup, and recovery operations.
• Familiarity with user access and permission management.
• Basic performance tuning knowledge.
• Comfortable with Windows/Linux operating systems.
• Exposure to Java runtime, Spring Boot, APIs, and logging.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment.
• Experience working across diverse cultures and geographies is advantageous.
