Inventory Officer at Vendease

Job Summary

Vendease is looking to recruit an inventory Officer who will ensure the accurate and efficient management of inventory. This involves maintaining optimal stock levels, minimizing discrepancies, and ensuring the timely and accurate fulfillment of orders. As an Inventory Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate movement of items into, within, and out of the warehouse by validating the inbound and outbound processes. You will also step in as the Relief Officer for the Warehouse Lead if the need arises.

Job Details

• Along with the Inventory & Warehouse Manager, develop the inventory management strategy of the company with the goal to rationalize inventory and maximize the stock at hand. 
• Maintain and manage inventory of stock, including stock locations and stock details. 
• Validate both the inbound and outbound activities of the fulfillment center. 
• Account for receipts of new stock, returns, back-orders, and associated issues, while adhering to strict accounting and auditing procedures. 
• Plan and Control stock takes and accuracy checks, and investigates discrepancies and shortages. 
• Ensure proper stock rotation to minimize overstocks and redundant or obsolete Stock. 
• Provide routine management data regarding inventory, which involves evaluating and monitoring usage, and analyzing inventory for obsolete and aging stock. 
• Provide support for the warehouse workers on Inventory Management System routine check, and management of errors that might affect the inventory. 
• Daily Provide sales team and Management up to date stock position. 
• Assist the internal audit team to conduct routine Audits on the Delivery Notes Generation, Goods Receipt Notes generation and other Stock movement Documents to ensure compliance and accuracy. 
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience working in a warehouse, preferably in a food industry. 
• BSc/BTech/HND - Accounting, Supply Chain Management or any related field. Professional Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Inventory, Warehouse and Logistics, e.t.c. will be an added advantage. 
• Knowledge of Inventory Management Systems (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Navigation, e.t.c) is compulsory. 
• Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis tools. 
• Familiarity with barcode scanners and RFID technology for tracking and managing inventory. 
• Experience using WMS for tracking inventory movements and managing warehouse operations. 
• Skills in inspecting incoming and outgoing inventory for quality and accuracy. 
• Knowledge of cycle counting procedures and the ability to perform regular stock reconciliations. 
• Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and inefficiencies. 
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all inventory-related tasks.
