Inventory Accountant at Max.ng

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Accountant to manage and optimize our inventory accounting processes. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy of inventory records, support operational efficiency, and provide insights that drive effective inventory management.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate inventory records according to company policies and accounting standards.
• Reconcile inventory balances across systems and physical counts.
• Analyze inventory variances and provide actionable insights to address discrepancies.
• Prepare and report inventory-related journal entries, adjustments, and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes by ensuring accurate inventory valuation and reporting.
• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for inventory transactions.
• Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to streamline inventory workflows.
• Monitor inventory turnover rates and provide recommendations to optimize stock levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in inventory accounting or a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and inventory management systems (Odoo)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
• Experience in performing inventory audits and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance related to inventory management.
