    Infrastructure and Security Lead

    Our Client

    Our Client, an indigenous IT firm seeks the services of an IT Infrastructure and Security Services who will be responsible for the daily operational, management and implementation of a secure, reliable network and systems infrastructure within the company.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Activities include: configuration and management of the entire IT security infrastructure of the company and affiliates. This covers all  cloud computing environments, on-site infrastructure, such as network switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection and protection devices, anti-spam appliances, filtering devices, and Internet caching appliances
    • Network capacity planning; monitoring of network infrastructure performance; identification of bottlenecks; optimization of infrastructure functions; and drafting of related policies and guidelines.
    • Develop security documentation, training, and guidance for internal infrastructure and development teams
    • Implementation and management of network security (WAN and LAN) and disaster recovery infrastructure. Activities include the determination, implementation, and management of: the appropriate level of infrastructure security for the current and future organizational environment; intrusion detection and prevention; virus protection; and disaster recovery to ensure business continuity.
    • Develop technical security guidance documents and standards for engineers
    • Identify and implement security technical and process improvements
    • Architect, build, automate, and operate automated security controls and review capabilities
    • Design and develop security tooling automation to enable the security team to operate at scale
    • Liaison with external partners and consultants with specialized expertise in related areas for infrastructure and security management.
    • Participate in the Security Leadership team and assure that InfraSec's work is properly prioritized per Security roadmap, identify and justify key elements for the InfraSec roadmap
    • Assure that InfraSec resources are well-trained and have a clear understanding of their assignments and expectations
    • Provide technical support to staff on infrastructure and security related concerns.
    • Provide technical recommendations to the management, specifically in infrastructure and security architecture related areas.
    • Keep abreast with current developments in infrastructure and security technology.
    • Research innovative solutions to improve related services.
    • Any other related duties as assigned by the MD/COO

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or relevant field
    • 5 - 7 years of experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
    • Minimum of 2 years successful leadership of an infrastructure team.  
    • Proven leadership skills and team management
    • Knowledge of security issues and threat landscape
    • Understanding of cloud computing platforms and cloud-based infrastructure design and operation
    • Understanding of container technologies, security, and tooling (such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
    • Understanding of networking, routing, and web related protocols
    • Experience scripting/coding with one or more languages (such as Python, Ruby, Golang)
    • Ability to multitask with strict time constraints, budgets and business goals
    • Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
    • Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
    • Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments.
    • Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, Group Policies, MS Exchange, Core Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN, Virtualization, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery.
    • Conversant with programming languages such as .Net, PHP.
    • Experience in interpreting the applicability of local and federal laws/regulations (including data privacy practices and laws) to company operations.
    • Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, and so on.
    • Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and telecommunications principles.
    • Experience installing network cabling and telephony systems.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail, a head for problem solving. and teamwork skills
