Roles & Responsibilities

• Manages the movement of products/equipment/materials/spares in and/or out of the country in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and to comply with relevant local and international laws and processes.
• Develops and implements import/export strategy and activities consistent with overall aims and requirements of the organization.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures related to imports and exports.
• Manages the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost- effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities.
• Manages and fosters good relationships with relevant government agencies to ensure prompt delivery of procured commodities.
• Oversees the purchase of Insurance Certificates, processing of Form M, Risk
• Assessment Report (RAR) and other relevant custom clearing documents.
• Ensures shipping/customs clearing documents conform with requirements.
• Communicates with export and import and related authorities, and customers and suppliers, in all relevant territories and countries, as necessary to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations, support and activities.
• Anticipates, researches and reports on future changes in import/export laws and in relevant local territory practices, and ensure such knowledge is factored into the planning of the department's own strategy, resources and procedures.
• Ensures best quality service through establishment of import export documentation in full and on time.
• Documents, implements and maintains the requirements of the Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Health and Safety management systems.

Required Education/ Qualification

• Minimum of a Bachelors' Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Shipping & Clearing, or related field
• An MBA or relevant Masters degree will be an added advantage
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a similar role
• At least 4 years managerial experience
