    HSE Officer

    Job Overview

    • The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the company’s operations adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards. The role involves overseeing compliance with regulatory requirements, conducting safety audits, managing incident reporting, and leading safety improvement initiatives.
    • The HSE Officer will also ensure employees and customers are well-educated on safety practices and emergency response procedures, particularly within the LPG industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the incident reporting and investigation processes.
    • Ensure all incidents are documented, analyzed, and resolved in a thorough, timely, and effective manner.
    • Conduct regular compliance audits and implement corrective actions where necessary.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive safety training programs for employees.
    • Lead regular safety inspections at all operational sites to identify and mitigate potential hazards
    • Develop and maintain robust emergency response plans.
    • Ensure all safety equipment is functional and accessible, and lead regular emergency drills.
    • Act as the lead responder during incidents or emergencies.
    • Prepare and implement monthly HSE plans, setting clear objectives and initiatives to enhance workplace safety.
    • Develop and oversee the HSE budget.
    • Ensure resources are allocated effectively for training, equipment, and emergency preparedness.
    • Manage the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety tools.
    • Ensure all equipment complies with regulatory standards and is readily available for use.
    • Implement initiatives to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
    • Prepare regular safety reports for management, including incident statistics, audit findings, training results

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety, or a related field.
    • 1-2years of post NYSC experience 
    • Certification in HSE practices is a plus.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
